Symptoms of poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis usually occur 1 to 3 weeks after the strep infection. They may include:

skin swelling, usually around the eyes, which is often worse in the morning

a recent skin infection or sore throat

malaise, or a general sick feeling

decreased urination

weight gain

shortness of breath or trouble breathing

pale skin

symptoms of kidney failure, which may include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weakness, and changes in alertness or awareness
